Manuscript Preparation

Suggested software tools for preparing the manuscript

Word processor: Use any one of the following tools-Microsoft Word, Pages, Or OpenOffice.

Submit the files in .doc format

Allowed formatting options: italics, bold, superscript, subscriptand symbol/special characters

Mathematic expressions: Use equation editor option in word processor. These expressions should be appropriately numbered as Eq 1., Eq 2., … and so on.

Tables: Use table option in word processor for preparing tables. Avoid vertical grid lines and use horizontal grid lines for title row (both top & bottom) and last row (only bottom). Place any footnote just below the table and use lower case letters in superscript for indication. Place the superscripted indicator in table term at the last and in footnote at the beginning.

Illustrations: This can be prepared with any software tools but should be saved and submitted in JPEG/TIFF format. Do not include Figure captions in the Image file. Do not embed any Figures/Images in the document; it is strongly advised to submit the illustrations as Image files (JPEG/TIFF) separately. But Figure captions should be included in the manuscript as a separate section at last.

Figure 1. Title of the figure (should be concise and explanatory)

Chemical structure and Equations: It is strongly advised to prepare the chemical structures and equations using ACD Chemsketch and submit both sketch file (.SKC) and image file (.JPEG/.TIFF). Check the IUPAC nomenclature of the molecules with the same software.

References: It is strongly recommended to use cite-while-you-write tool of Endnote for preparing the manuscript. Use stand-alone version of Endnote or Endnote web tool (free for academicians/researchers). Bibliographic style should be set to ACS Chemistry.

Research Article (RA):

RA should be not less than 4 and not more than 6 journal-pages.

It should be prepared under following major sections:

1. Introduction

 2. Results and Discussion

 2.1. Sub-section

2.1.1. Sub-sub-section (avoid next-level)

2.1.2. .................... (Add further titles as required)

 2.2. ....................

 2.2.1. .................... (avoid next level)

2.2.2. ....................(Add further titles as required)

3. Conclusion

4. Experimental

 4.1. Sub-section

4.1.1. Sub-sub-section (avoid next-level)

4.1.2. .................... (Add further titles as required)

4.2. ....................

 4.2.1. .................... (avoid next level)

4.2.2. ....................(Add further titles as required)

References

1. Introduction:This section should not contain any sub-sections. This section may contain not more than two paragraphs one covering (i) “problem area” explaining the magnitude of the “problem” with suitable statistical data reported elsewhere and (ii) a brief updated review of literature citing the most important findings reported in the “problem area”. While the second paragraph should briefly introduces & discusses the objective of study and its design.

2. Result & Discussion:This section may contain sub-section and should be numbered 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 … and so on. We strongly recommend not having any sub-sub-sections. It should summarize the results obtained and scientifically discuss the outcome of the study with reference to the objective. All the references to the Figures and Tables should be given only in this section in bold (eg. Figure 1, Table 1).

3. Conclusion:This section should discuss the conclusion of the study and future scope if any.

4. Experimental:Abrief discussion of common Materials & methodsemployed should be provided without any sub-section number. A detailed discussion should be provided in appropriate sub-sections numbered 3.1., 3.2., 3.3... accordingly. We strongly recommend not having any sub-sub-sections.

Research Communication (RC):

RC should be not less than 2 and not more than 4 journal-pages.

There should be no sections to the mini-articles. Tough it should contain introductory paragraph that explains the objective of the study with appropriate background information critically discussing the need of such a study.

Experimental design and methods should have appropriate references. If the design and method is newer, complete procedure (method development & validation) should be provided in Supporting Information.

For newer compounds/ formulations, complete characterization data should be provided in Supporting Information. (Compounds- 1H-NMR & 13C-NMR, HR-MS/ Elemental Analysis; Formulation-IR/ XRD/ DSC/ SEM/ TEM etc.)

Research Review (RR):

RR should be not more than 15 journal-pages. Though it is flexible depending upon the area of research and editors approval.

Authors are free to summarize the article in their own style.

Units/ Abbreviations

Units:Standard SI units should be followed.

Abbreviations:Non-standard abbreviations in their respective field should be defined clearly after Experimental Section without section numbering. Define the abbreviations in the text on their first appearance and ensure the consistency of the abbreviation throughout the manuscript. It is strongly recommended not to use abbreviations in Abstract.

Acknowledgement

Place Acknowledgement next to Abbreviations as a separate section to list those who have extended non-technical help during the research. Any funding received from any government/non-government organization should be acknowledged here.

Reference

It is strongly recommended to incorporate References using Endnote/ Endnote web selecting ACS Chemistry as output style.

Content of Title page

Title: Title should be concise and informative. It is strongly recommended not to have any abbreviations and formulas in the title. Maximum of 150 characters with space is allowed.
